The Russian Federation is considering to nationalize assets of the Finnish companies that have stopped their operations in Russia. N.b. some Finnish stock listed companies have not left Russia. Rationale: "When market has less players, the business opportunity will be bigger."
Many businesses have already been taken over by snap decisions of Duma, the Russian Assembly. Those include the fleet of Boeing and Airbus airplanes leased by Аэрофлот. I.e. in Russia the lease agreement entitles to ownership of the assets!
How should govt. of Finland react. Proactive capture of the Russian assets?
What compulsory purchase could be done?
⁃ Dockyard
⁃ Fuel distribution company
⁃ Several oil trading companies
⁃ Logistics companies
⁃ Nanotechnology companies
⁃ Gene technology companies
⁃ Software technology companies
⁃ Real estate (many)
⁃ Data Centre
⁃ Nuclear power plant under construction
⁃ Ice hockey ring
⁃ Nickel foundry and its ice hockey team
⁃ + + many minority shareholdings in various industries
The absurd scenario:
Both countries will own once again sizeable amount of the nation’s industrial capital:
Russia => Communist Federation (back to CCCP era).
Finland => Socialdemocratic, mixed economy (back to 1960s).
